During our early teen years, my sister and I spent many long, summer days at the beach reading Harlequin Romances. My sister’s hair would go crazy, curly. (This was long before hair products.)
I remember those long, lazy days with great happiness. We were on the Green Harbor Beach in Massachusetts, which was near my grandparents' forever unfinished tiny cottage.
The “hair” from this collage was part of a big black and white mixed media work on water color paper. As I tore the painting into smaller pieces to use in a collage, I found the hair that reminded me of my sister’s hair when she was younger.
