My mixed-media, abstract artwork, entitled, “Coral Sky,” celebrates the joy found in the presence of water in nature. By inventing and abstracting the natural world, I invite viewers to experience their own memories and feelings of favorite places.
This invented landscape features vibrant colors and energetic marks created with different mediums including acrylic paint, ink and oil pastels.
I used palette knives, scrapers, color shapers, and found objects—rarely a paintbrush—to create the dynamic textures and layered surface. This approach allows me to capture the energy of wind, water, and shifting light.
